Our Probation Staff seconded to work at HMP Wellingborough and HMP Rye Hill as well as YOI Onley has continued to ensure that public protection and management of risk is central to planned activity. Resettlement and public protection remain a primary role. Probation staff have a key part to play in the new discharge boards, which has improved the resettlement process. Probation staff at the prison also have a central role within public protection work, attending MAPPA meetings and chairing boards within the prison. Programme staff have been particularly successful this year and achieved 100% in the recent audit. All Probation Programme staff have also attained accreditation and therefore have high quality levels of delivery. The department continues to make a significant contribution to Wellingborough Prison which is working towards the top level bands for prisons.
