A large proportion of staff at Northamptonshire Probation Trust work directly with offenders in different roles. There are a various positions, including:

Probation Service Officers: Probation Service Officers work with Probation Officers in a wide range of settings, including; Courts, Unpaid Work, Offender Management and Interventions. Probation Service Officers may supervise offenders on a one to one basis or in group settings; maintaining proper case files, preparing court reports, working with offenders in custody and sentence planning.

Sessional Supervisors: Sessional Supervisors manage offenders who are subject to an Unpaid Work requirement. The supervisor also encourages offenders to learn new practical skills and offenders are encouraged to look at how learning to solve problems in one area of life can help deal with other issues.

Other roles include:

•  Hostel Officers

•  Probation Officers

•  Trainee Probation Officers

•  Treatment Managers

•  Victim Officers

•  Administrators

•  Clerical Officers

Other staff work in supporting roles such as in the Executive Management Team, Information, HR and Training, Finance, County Office and Communications.
